Privacy and browser storage

What stays on your device
Rick Koston does not use this project to collect business-tool inputs or build advertising profiles. The on-site calculators, document tools, PDF tools and HTML checkers process entered information and selected files in your browser. The application does not upload those inputs to Smallbiztools. No account is required.
Most inputs remain in the open page until you leave or reload it. Export files you need to keep. Do not assume a page, browser or shared computer protects sensitive records from other people who can access that device.
Saved data and cookies
When you choose to save records or favorites, supported tools store records in this browser's local storage. This includes business profiles and logos, favorites, stock records, project records and supported outreach records. Saved data may be loaded when you return. It is not synchronized to a Smallbiztools account.
The website application does not set advertising or analytics cookies and contains no analytics or advertising tracking integration. Local storage is separate from cookies. Use a tool's clear control where available or your browser's site-data settings to remove stored data. Clearing site data can erase saved work; export it first.
Optional writing AI
Starting writing AI requests model files from Hugging Face and its delivery providers. They receive ordinary connection information needed for those downloads, such as your IP address and requested file. Their privacy practices apply to those requests.
The writing brief and generated draft are processed on your device by the downloaded model. Model files may be cached by your browser for reuse. Stopping the AI releases its worker; it does not necessarily delete cached files. Browser site-data settings can remove cached data.
Website requests and external links
The website is hosted by DreamHost. Loading any served page sends ordinary web-request information to the host, such as an IP address and requested address. Hosting infrastructure may keep operational or security logs. We do not use those requests to build advertising profiles. We have not published a log-retention period because the hosting settings have not been verified.
Following an external resource or software link connects you to that provider. Its privacy policy governs what it collects. Smallbiztools does not control those sites.
Contact and exported files
The contact and tool-request forms send the fields you choose to share through our website host to Rick by email. They use a temporary, secure form cookie and a short-lived anti-spam challenge. Hashed IP addresses and attempt timestamps are kept outside the public website for rate limits and removed after 24 hours when the form is used. The website does not store message bodies; received email remains with Rick and his email provider. Ask Rick about a message you have sent through the contact form.
The contact email is rickkoston@gmail.com. An email link opens your email application; you decide whether to send. Email you send is received through that email service and includes the message, return address and any attachments you choose. Avoid sending passwords, payment details or unnecessary customer information.
Other exports and clipboard copies can contain the data you entered. They are not encrypted by these tools; manage and delete copies through your device and any service you use to share them.
